Sample Circuit Training session for High School

STEP ONE

Arrange students in four columns

One arm distance in front; double arm distance on sides

Line Leader warm up

Students will experience being ‘in charge’ and will take turns, warming up the body, following directions.

Arrange the children in columns (squad lines) for 6 facing forward except the line leader who faces their peers.

The first row of leaders chooses an exercise or stretch to perform, when the music starts, they begin and the class follows their lead, when you tell them to ‘switch’ then the line leaders jog down the right side and take up the last spot at the rear.

The next person in the front of the line moves forward and faces their peers and they perform the next chosen music. This continues until the class has all had a turn.

If music is not available, give each student 30 to 40 seconds and blow the whistle for each change.
