Recognising the importance of being active for life, and understanding that physical literacy is not just about sports, but it’s about knowing one’s own body & staying fit throughout one’s life, a three volume report titled ‘From stasis to movement’ had been filed by senior advocate Sankaranarayanan seeking changes in the Constitution, central and state policies, and school administration and management. In response to this petition, the Indian Supreme Court on April 25th 2022 has asked the Centre and states to respond to the interim suggestions made proposing an amendment to Article 21 of the Indian constitution to treat Physical Literacy as a fundamental human right.
