Sample Sports Skills session for Mid School

Session Components: Warm up March | Basket Ball Drills | Game Play: Dribble with turns | Brain Gym

Class: IV

Chapter id: SS6-13

Every student must 

* respond to the session activities willingly and enthusiastically 

* be motivated, foster self-confidence and build competency in the skills being taught 

* learn and understand the value of the movements by respecting self and others in the spatial setting.

Every student must 

* demonstrate with competency the basket ball drills – viz., Butterfly crosses, Figure Eight, Blind back catch.  

* be skilful to dribble with both hands.

* ensure the rhythm of dribbling with alternate hands is smooth rather than focusing on the speed.

Every student must 

* be confident in relation to the various movements with the ball

* compare and contrast the varied drills on their ability to control the ball

* demonstrate their ability to concentrate during the brain gym activity.

Every student must 

* identify and distinguish each sports skill along with name, form and application  

* apply the knowledge gained in previous dribbling drills in the game play

* understand the importance of contralateral movements and enhancement of neural pathways during the brain gym activity.
