WHY PHYSICAL LITERACY?

Just like learning the alphabet and phonics are the fundamental skills needed to eventually read and write, or identifying numbers and learning to add and subtract are the fundamental skills needed to earn and pay, the development of fundamental motor skills is critical if children are to be motivated to move with confidence and competence in a wide variety of activities and environments developing them as a whole person.

WHAT WE DO…

We need to synthesise how we feel, think and act, treating ourselves as whole persons – not as if we have separate physical and mental qualities that bear no relation to each other. Situations in life have kinaesthetic, logical and collaborative components. Solutions therefore need to be born from being intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially engaged.
Maverick Physical Literacy sessions are neither mere physical exercises nor intellectual rigmarole, but an experience that enhances the Cognitive Value of Movement
